Development of core-modified porphyrin as sensitizers in DSSCs is one of the main research theme in our lab. We have evaluated several core-modified porphyrins in DSSCs, out of them Boryl-oxasmaragdyrins, a class of aromatic core-modified expanded porphyrin with a 22 pi-electron conjuagation have proved to be an efficient sensitizer with 5.7% photon-to-current conversion efficiency.
